Indeed, she lies in wait like a robber, ¹  and increases the unfaithful ²  among men. ³ 

Then they shouted back, ¹  “Not this man, ²  but Barabbas!” ³  (Now Barabbas was a revolutionary. ⁴ ) ⁵ 

and your poverty will come like a bandit, and your need like an armed robber.” ¹ 

“Suppose such a man has ¹  a violent son who sheds blood and does any of these things ²  mentioned previously

“I tell you the solemn truth, ¹  the one who does not enter the sheepfold ²  by the door, ³  but climbs in some other way, is a thief and a robber.

Jesus said to them, “Have you come with swords and clubs to arrest me like you would an outlaw? ¹ 

and your poverty will come like a robber, ¹  and your need like an armed man. ² 

At that moment Jesus said to the crowd, “Have you come out with swords and clubs to arrest me like you would an outlaw? ¹  Day after day I sat teaching in the temple courts, yet ²  you did not arrest me.

Then ¹  Jesus said to the chief priests, the officers of the temple guard, ²  and the elders who had come out to get him, “Have you come out with swords and clubs like you would against an outlaw? ³ 

A trap ¹  seizes him by the heel; a snare ²  grips him.

In the dark the robber ¹  breaks into houses, ²  but by day they shut themselves in; ³  they do not know the light. ⁴ 

The hungry ¹  eat up his harvest, ²  and take it even from behind the thorns, ³  and the thirsty ⁴  swallow up ⁵  their fortune. ⁶ 

The one who robs ¹  his father and mother and says, “There is no transgression,” is a companion ²  to the one ³  who destroys.

But now I am writing to you not to associate with anyone who calls himself a Christian ¹  who is sexually immoral, or greedy, or an idolater, or verbally abusive, ²  or a drunkard, or a swindler. Do not even eat with such a person.

Who handed Jacob over to the robber? Who handed Israel over to the looters? ¹  Was it not the Lord, against whom we sinned? They refused to follow his commands; they disobeyed his law. ²
