let them ¹  drink and forget ²  their poverty, and remember their misery no more.

In all hard work ¹  there is profit, but merely talking about it ²  only brings ³  poverty. ⁴ 

The wealth of a rich person is like ¹  a fortified city, ²  but the poor are brought to ruin ³  by ⁴  their poverty.

and your poverty will come like a bandit, and your need like an armed robber.” ¹ 

The one who neglects ¹  discipline ends up in ²  poverty and shame, but the one who accepts reproof is honored. ³ 

The one who works his land will be satisfied with food, ¹  but whoever chases daydreams ²  will have his fill ³  of poverty.

The plans of the diligent ¹  lead ²  only to plenty, ³  but everyone who is hasty comes only to poverty. ⁴

because drunkards and gluttons become impoverished, and drowsiness ¹  clothes them with rags. ² 

Remove falsehood and lies ¹  far from me; do not give me poverty or riches, feed me with my allotted portion ²  of bread, ³ 

that during a severe ordeal of suffering, their abundant joy and their extreme poverty have overflowed in the wealth ¹  of their generosity.

Do not love sleep, ¹  lest you become impoverished; open your eyes so that ²  you might be satisfied with food. ³ 

The stingy person ¹  hastens after riches and does not know that poverty will overtake him. ²

For you know the grace ¹  of our Lord Jesus Christ, that although he was rich, he became poor for your sakes, so that you by his poverty could become rich.

The one who oppresses the poor to increase his own gain and the one who gives to the rich ¹  – both end up only in poverty.

One person is generous ¹  and yet grows more wealthy, ²  but another withholds more than he should ³  and comes to poverty. ⁴
