Pilate answered, “What I have written, I have written.”

For everything that was written in former times was written for our instruction, so that through endurance and through encouragement of the scriptures we may have hope.

“In Bethlehem of Judea,” they said, “for it is written this way by the prophet:

Jesus answered him, “It is written, ‘Man ¹  does not live by bread alone.’” ² 

for it is written, ‘He will command his angels concerning you, to protect you,’ ¹ 

He said to him, “What is written in the law? How do you understand it?” ¹ 

because these are days of vengeance, ¹  to fulfill ²  all that is written.

His disciples remembered that it was written, “Zeal ¹  for your house will devour me.” ² 

It is written in your law that the testimony of two men is true. ¹ 

Jesus answered, ¹  “Is it not written in your law, ‘I said, you are gods’? ² 

Jesus found a young donkey ¹  and sat on it, just as it is written,

The ¹  words of the prophets agree ²  with this, as it is written,

just as it is written: “There is no one righteous, not even one,

just as it is written: “Jacob I loved, but Esau I hated.” ¹ 

so that, as it is written, “Let the one who boasts, boast in the Lord.” ¹ 

You yourselves are our letter, ¹  written on our hearts, known and read by everyone,

for it is written, “You shall be holy, because I am holy.” ¹ 

These things I have written to you about those who are trying to deceive you. ¹ 

There are many other things that Jesus did. If every one of them were written down, ¹  I suppose the whole world ²  would not have room for the books that would be written. ³ 

For all who ¹  rely on doing the works of the law are under a curse, because it is written, “Cursed is everyone who does not keep on doing everything written in the book of the law.” ²
