Look, I will be waiting at the fords of the desert until word from you ¹  reaches me.”

For my enemies talk about me; those waiting for a chance to kill me plot my demise. ¹ 

Blessed is the one ¹  who listens to me, watching ²  at my doors day by day, waiting ³  beside my doorway. ⁴ 

The prophet then went and stood by the road, waiting for the king. He also disguised himself by putting a bandage down over his eyes.

How much less, then, when you say that you do not perceive him, that the case is before him and you are waiting for him! ¹ 

But you must return ¹  to your God, by maintaining love and justice, and by waiting ²  for your God to return to you. ³

The Gazites were told, ¹  “Samson has come here!” So they surrounded the town ²  and hid all night at the city gate, waiting for him to leave. ³  They relaxed ⁴  all night, thinking, ⁵  “He will not leave ⁶  until morning comes; ⁷  then we will kill him!”

Look, my father, and see the edge of your robe in my hand! When I cut off the edge of your robe, I didn’t kill you. So realize and understand that I am not planning ¹  evil or rebellion. Even though I have not sinned against you, you are waiting in ambush to take my life.
