John replied, ¹  “No one can receive anything unless it has been given to him from heaven.

So Jesus said to him, “Unless you people ¹  see signs and wonders you will never believe!” ²

“Our law doesn’t condemn ¹  a man unless it first hears from him and learns ²  what he is doing, does it?” ³ 

Thus I told you ¹  that you will die in your sins. For unless you believe that I am he, ²  you will die in your sins.”

The man ¹  replied, “How in the world can I, ²  unless someone guides me?” So he invited Philip to come up and sit with him.

Now some men came down from Judea ¹  and began to teach the brothers, “Unless you are circumcised ²  according to the custom of Moses, you cannot be saved.”
