in the twilight, the evening, ¹  in the dark of the night. ² 

My heart palpitates, ¹  I shake in fear; ²  the twilight I desired has brought me terror.

In the first month, on the fourteenth day of the month, at twilight, ¹  is a Passover offering to the Lord.

They may observe it on the fourteenth day of the second month ¹  at twilight; they are to eat it with bread made without yeast and with bitter herbs.

But David struck them down from twilight until the following evening. None of them escaped, with the exception of four hundred young men who got away on camels. ¹ 

And the eye of the adulterer watches for the twilight, thinking, ¹  ‘No eye can see me,’ and covers his face with a mask.

In the fourteenth day of this month, at twilight, ¹  you are to observe it at its appointed time; you must keep ²  it in accordance with all its statutes and all its customs.” ³ 

And they observed the Passover ¹  on the fourteenth day of the first month at twilight in the wilderness of Sinai; in accordance with all that the Lord had commanded Moses, so the Israelites did.

Show the Lord your God the respect that is due him. ¹  Do it before he brings the darkness of disaster. ²  Do it before you stumble ³  into distress like a traveler on the mountains at twilight. ⁴  Do it before he turns the light of deliverance you hope for into the darkness and gloom of exile. ⁵
