But Mary stood outside the tomb weeping. As she wept, she bent down and looked into the tomb.

(Now Mary Magdalene and the other Mary were sitting there, opposite the tomb.)

They ¹  found that the stone had been rolled away from the tomb, ² 

Furthermore, some women of our group amazed us. ¹  They ²  were at the tomb early this morning,

When ¹  Jesus arrived, ²  he found that Lazarus ³  had been in the tomb four days already. ⁴ 

Then Peter and the other disciple set out to go to the tomb. ¹ 

and placed it ¹  in his own new tomb that he had cut in the rock. ²  Then he rolled a great stone across the entrance ³  of the tomb and went away.

After Joseph ¹  bought a linen cloth ²  and took down the body, he wrapped it in the linen and placed it in a tomb cut out of the rock. ³  Then ⁴  he rolled a stone across the entrance ⁵  of the tomb.

He put the corpse into his own tomb, and they ¹  mourned over him, saying, “Ah, my brother!”

He was buried ¹  in his tomb in the garden of Uzzah, and his son Josiah replaced him as king.

¹ As for all the kings of the nations, all of them ²  lie down in splendor, ³  each in his own tomb. ⁴ 

So ¹  they went with the soldiers ²  of the guard and made the tomb secure by sealing the stone.

So ¹  they left the tomb quickly, with fear and great joy, and ran to tell his disciples.

When John’s ¹  disciples heard this, they came and took his body and placed it in a tomb.

And very early on the first day of the week, at sunrise, they went to the tomb.

They had been asking each other, “Who will roll away the stone for us from the entrance to the tomb?”

and when they returned from the tomb they told all these things to the eleven ¹  and to all the rest.

Jesus, intensely moved ¹  again, came to the tomb. (Now it was a cave, and a stone was placed across it.) ² 

And so, because it was the Jewish day of preparation ¹  and the tomb was nearby, ²  they placed Jesus’ body there.

The two were running together, but the other disciple ran faster than Peter ¹  and reached the tomb first. ²
