But the righteous man holds to his way, and the one with clean hands grows stronger. ¹ 

A wise warrior ¹  is strong, ²  and a man of knowledge makes his strength stronger;

He said ¹  to his people, “Look at ²  the Israelite people, more numerous and stronger than we are!

Omri’s supporters were stronger than those who supported Tibni son of Ginath. Tibni died; Omri became king.

For the foolishness of God is wiser than human wisdom, ¹  and the weakness of God is stronger than human strength. ²

then he ¹  will drive out all these nations ahead of you, and you will dispossess nations greater and stronger than you.

Saul and Jonathan were greatly loved ¹  during their lives, and not even in their deaths were they separated. They were swifter than eagles, stronger than lions.

Listen to my cry for help, for I am in serious trouble! ¹  Rescue me from those who chase me, for they are stronger than I am.

But ¹  when a stronger man ²  attacks ³  and conquers him, he takes away the first man’s ⁴  armor on which the man relied ⁵  and divides up ⁶  his plunder. ⁷

However, the war was prolonged between the house of Saul and the house of David. David was becoming steadily stronger, while the house of Saul was becoming increasingly weaker.
