This advice made sense to Pharaoh and all his officials. ¹ 

A wise person’s good sense protects him, ¹  but a fool’s lack of sense leaves him vulnerable. ² 

When I tried to make sense of this, it was troubling to me. ¹ 

A fool rejects his father’s discipline, but whoever heeds reproof shows good sense. ¹ 

The sluggard is wiser in his own estimation ¹  than seven people who respond with good sense. ² 

Folly is a joy to one who lacks sense, ¹  but one who has understanding ²  follows an upright course. ³ 

Even when a fool walks along the road he lacks sense, ¹  and shows ²  everyone what a fool he is. ³ 

I said, “During the night I will remember the song I once sang; I will think very carefully.” I tried to make sense of what was happening. ¹ 

Am I saying these things only on the basis of common sense, ¹  or does the law not say this as well?

If the whole body were an eye, what part would do the hearing? If the whole were an ear, what part would exercise the sense of smell?

and he reasoned ¹  that God could even raise him from the dead, and in a sense ²  he received him back from there.

Where then is your sense of happiness ¹  now? For I testify about you that if it were possible, you would have pulled out your eyes and given them to me!

The Lord answered, ¹  “This will happen ²  because my people are foolish. They do not know me. They are like children who have no sense. ³  They have no understanding. They are skilled at doing evil. They do not know how to do good.”
