For even though I am absent physically, ¹  I am present in spirit. And I have already judged the one who did this, just as though I were present. ² 

But some who were present indignantly said to one another, “Why this waste of expensive ¹  ointment?

(Now none of those present at the table ¹  understood ²  why Jesus ³  said this to Judas. ⁴ 

So in the same way at the present time there is a remnant chosen by grace.

and do not present your members to sin as instruments ¹  to be used for unrighteousness, ²  but present yourselves to God as those who are alive from the dead and your members to God as instruments ³  to be used for righteousness.

So ¹  Judas ²  agreed and began looking for an opportunity to betray Jesus ³  when no crowd was present. ⁴

For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor heavenly rulers, ¹  nor things that are present, nor things to come, nor powers,

whether Paul or Apollos or Cephas or the world or life or death or the present or the future. Everything belongs to you,

those who use the world as though they were not using it to the full. For the present shape of this world is passing away.
