He went away again and prayed the same thing.

Yet Jesus himself ¹  frequently withdrew ²  to the wilderness ³  and prayed.

He went away from them about a stone’s throw, knelt down, and prayed,

They stood these men before the apostles, who prayed ¹  and placed ²  their hands on them.

They ¹  continued to stone Stephen while he prayed, “Lord Jesus, receive my spirit!”

These two ¹  went down and prayed for them so that they would receive the Holy Spirit.

When ¹  he had said these things, he knelt down ²  with them all and prayed.

Then ¹  he prayed again, and the sky gave rain and the land sprouted with a harvest.

So leaving them again, he went away and prayed for the third time, saying the same thing once more.

And in his anguish ¹  he prayed more earnestly, and his sweat was like drops of blood falling to the ground.] ² 

Then they prayed, ¹  “Lord, you know the hearts of all. Show us which one of these two you have chosen

Then, after they had fasted ¹  and ²  prayed and placed their hands ³  on them, they sent them off.

He went away a second time and prayed, ¹  “My Father, if this cup ²  cannot be taken away unless I drink it, your will must be done.”

Going a little farther, he threw himself to the ground and prayed that if it were possible the hour would pass from him.

but I have prayed for you, Simon, ¹  that your faith may not fail. ²  When ³  you have turned back, ⁴  strengthen ⁵  your brothers.”

He ¹  was a devout, God-fearing man, ²  as was all his household; he did many acts of charity for the people ³  and prayed to God regularly.

Going a little farther, he threw himself down with his face to the ground and prayed, ¹  “My Father, if possible, ²  let this cup ³  pass from me! Yet not what I will, but what you will.”

The Pharisee stood and prayed about himself like this: ¹  ‘God, I thank ²  you that I am not like other people: ³  extortionists, ⁴  unrighteous people, ⁵  adulterers – or even like this tax collector. ⁶ 

When ¹  they had prayed, the place where they were assembled together was shaken, ²  and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak ³  the word of God ⁴  courageously. ⁵ 

But Peter sent them all outside, ¹  knelt down, ²  and prayed. Turning ³  to the body, he said, “Tabitha, get up.” Then she opened her eyes, and when she saw Peter, she sat up. ⁴
