Honor ¹  widows who are truly in need. ² 

The eye cannot say to the hand, “I do not need you,” nor in turn can the head say to the foot, “I do not need you.”

At the present time, your abundance will meet their need, ¹  so that one day their abundance may also meet your need, and thus there may be equality,

Do ¹  not be like them, for your Father knows what you need before you ask him.

For the unconverted ¹  pursue these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them.

But he ¹  replied, “They don’t need to go. You ²  give them something to eat.”

Then the high priest tore his clothes and said, “Why do we still need witnesses?

He did not need anyone to testify about man, ¹  for he knew what was in man. ² 

For even in Thessalonica ¹  on more than one occasion ²  you sent something for my need.

And my God will supply your every need according to his glorious riches ¹  in Christ Jesus.

In this way you will live ¹  a decent life before outsiders and not be in need. ² 

But John ¹  tried to prevent ²  him, saying, “I need to be baptized by you, and yet you come to me?”

he does not need to honor his father.’ ¹  You have nullified the word of God on account of your tradition.

Jesus ¹  answered them, “Those who are well don’t need a physician, but those who are sick do. ² 

But give from your heart to those in need, ¹  and ²  then everything will be clean for you. ³ 

For all the nations of the world pursue ¹  these things, and your Father knows that you need them.

Then ¹  they said, “Why do we need further testimony? We have heard it ourselves ²  from his own lips!” ³ 

and they began selling ¹  their property ²  and possessions and distributing the proceeds ³  to everyone, as anyone had need.

and placing them at the apostles’ feet. The proceeds ¹  were distributed to each, as anyone had need.

I am not saying this because I am in need, for I have learned to be content in any circumstance.
