Sound the ram’s horn on the day of the new moon, ¹  and on the day of the full moon when our festival begins. ² 

He conceals ¹  the face of the full moon, ²  shrouding it with his clouds.

You established the cycle of day and night; ¹  you put the moon ²  and sun in place. ³ 

it will remain stable, like the moon, ¹  his throne will endure like the skies.” ²  (Selah)

The sun will not harm you by day, or the moon by night. ¹ 

the moon and stars to rule by night, for his loyal love endures,

Praise him, O sun and moon! Praise him, all you shiny stars! ¹ 

The sun and moon are darkened; the stars withhold ¹  their brightness.

He made the moon to mark the months, ¹  and the sun sets according to a regular schedule. ² 

I hate your new moon festivals and assemblies; they are a burden that I am tired of carrying.

The earth quakes ¹  before them; ²  the sky reverberates. ³  The sun and the moon grow dark; the stars refuse to shine. ⁴ 

“But in those days, after that suffering, ¹  the sun will be darkened and the moon will not give its light;

by serving other gods and worshiping them – the sun, ¹  moon, or any other heavenly bodies which I have not permitted you to worship. ² 

He said, “Why do you want to go see him today? It is not the new moon ¹  or the Sabbath.” She said, “Everything’s fine.” ²
