However, God heard; he listened to my prayer.

Moses listened to ¹  his father-in-law and did everything he had said.

So Samuel listened to everything the people said and then reported it to the Lord. ¹ 

“People ¹  listened to me and waited silently; ²  they kept silent for my advice.

If I had harbored sin in my heart, ¹  the Lord would not have listened.

“Therefore, the Lord who rules over all ¹  says, ‘You have not listened to what I said. ² 

As for their wheels, they were called “the wheelwork” ¹  as I listened.

The Lord listened to the voice of Israel and delivered up the Canaanites, ¹  and they utterly destroyed them and their cities. So the name of the place was called ²  Hormah.

As for me, I stayed at the mountain as I did the first time, forty days and nights. The Lord listened to me that time as well and decided not to destroy you.

Now Joshua son of Nun was full of the spirit of wisdom, for Moses had placed his hands on him; ¹  and the Israelites listened to him and did just what the Lord had commanded Moses.
