Then came the feast of the Dedication ¹  in Jerusalem. ² 

(Now Bethany was less than two miles ¹  from Jerusalem, ² 

When we arrived in Jerusalem, the brothers welcomed us gladly. ¹ 

Then they returned to Jerusalem ¹  from the mountain ²  called the Mount of Olives ³  (which is near Jerusalem, a Sabbath day’s journey ⁴  away).

When King Herod ¹  heard this he was alarmed, and all Jerusalem with him.

And large crowds followed him from Galilee, the Decapolis, ¹  Jerusalem, ²  Judea, and beyond the Jordan River. ³ 

Then Pharisees ¹  and experts in the law ²  came from Jerusalem ³  to Jesus and said, ⁴ 

As he entered Jerusalem the whole city was thrown into an uproar, ¹  saying, “Who is this?”

Now ¹  Jesus’ ²  parents went to Jerusalem ³  every ⁴  year for the feast of the Passover. ⁵ 

When ¹  they did not find him, they returned to Jerusalem ²  to look for him.

but the villagers ¹  refused to welcome ²  him, because he was determined to go to Jerusalem. ³ 

Then ¹  Jesus ²  traveled throughout ³  towns ⁴  and villages, teaching and making his way toward ⁵  Jerusalem. ⁶ 

Now on ¹  the way to Jerusalem, ²  Jesus ³  was passing along ⁴  between Samaria and Galilee.

After Jesus ¹  had said this, he continued on ahead, ²  going up to Jerusalem. ³ 

“But when you see Jerusalem ¹  surrounded ²  by armies, then know that its ³  desolation ⁴  has come near.

So ¹  they worshiped ²  him and returned to Jerusalem with great joy, ³ 

Now the Jewish feast of Passover ¹  was near, so Jesus went up to Jerusalem. ² 

After this ¹  there was a Jewish feast, ²  and Jesus went up to Jerusalem. ³ 

Now there were devout Jews ¹  from every nation under heaven residing in Jerusalem. ² 

On the next day, ¹  their rulers, elders, and experts in the law ²  came together ³  in Jerusalem. ⁴
