“Salt ¹  is good, but if salt loses its flavor, ²  how can its flavor be restored?

“Make a tree good and its fruit will be good, or make a tree bad ¹  and its fruit will be bad, for a tree is known by its fruit.

As ¹  they were untying the colt, its owners asked them, ²  “Why are you untying that colt?”

Now those who belong to Christ ¹  have crucified the flesh ²  with its passions ³  and desires.

and their message will spread its infection ¹  like gangrene. Hymenaeus and Philetus are in this group. ² 

Now the first covenant, ¹  in fact, had regulations for worship and its earthly sanctuary.

Its gates will never be closed during the day ¹  (and ²  there will be no night there). ³ 

Who ever serves in the army at his own expense? Who plants a vineyard and does not eat its fruit? Who tends a flock and does not consume its milk?

For the sun rises with its heat and dries up the meadow; the petal of the flower falls off and its beauty is lost forever. ¹  So also the rich person in the midst of his pursuits will wither away.

Then ¹  I saw a beast coming up out of the sea. It ²  had ten horns and seven heads, and on its horns were ten diadem crowns, ³  and on its heads a blasphemous name. ⁴ 

Now ¹  the city is laid out as a square, ²  its length and width the same. He ³  measured the city with the measuring rod ⁴  at fourteen hundred miles ⁵  (its length and width and height are equal).

So then, do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Today has enough trouble of its own. ¹
