The Lord instructed Joshua:

Joshua instructed ¹  the leaders of the people:

So Moses instructed ¹  the Israelites to observe ²  the Passover.

So Joshua instructed the priests, “Come up from the Jordan!”

Look, ¹  you have instructed ²  many; you have strengthened ³  feeble hands. ⁴ 

In the presence of all these people I instructed Baruch,

Joseph instructed the physicians in his service ¹  to embalm his father, so the physicians embalmed Israel.

So the sons of Jacob did for him just as he had instructed them.

You must do what you are instructed, and the verdict they pronounce to you, without fail. Do not deviate right or left from what they tell you.
