So Isaac ¹  held a feast for them and they celebrated. ² 

All who believed were together and held ¹  everything in common,

But if they are bound in chains, ¹  and held captive by the cords of affliction,

I was stone silent; ¹  I held back the urge to speak. ²  My frustration grew; ³ 

You held my eyelids open; ¹  I was troubled and could not speak. ² 

This is why the sky ¹  has held back its dew and the earth its produce. ² 

I tell you the truth, ¹  this generation will be held responsible for all these things! ² 

None of the rest dared to join them, ¹  but the people held them in high honor. ² 

He himself is before all things and all things are held together ¹  in him.

But evil people are like thorns – all of them are tossed away, for they cannot be held in the hand.

Do not be so certain you have won! ¹  Do not speak with your head held so high! ² 

But ¹  Jesus met them, saying, “Greetings!” They ²  came to him, held on to his feet and worshiped him.

But about Israel he says, “All day long I held out my hands to this disobedient and stubborn people!” ¹ 

and set free those who were held in slavery all their lives by their fear of death.

Samson said to the young man who held his hand, “Position me so I can touch the pillars that support the temple. ¹  Then I can lean on them.”

On the eighth day they held an assembly, for they had dedicated the altar for seven days and celebrated the festival for seven more days.

The wicked ¹  will be captured by his ²  own iniquities, ³  and he will be held ⁴  by the cords of his own sin. ⁵ 

Your head crowns ¹  you like Mount Carmel. ²  The locks of your hair ³  are like royal tapestries ⁴  – the king is held captive ⁵  in its tresses!

“I have been inactive ¹  for a long time; I kept quiet and held back. Like a woman in labor I groan; I pant and gasp. ² 

None of the sins he has committed will be held ¹  against him; because of the righteousness he has done, he will live.
