my anxiety intensified. ¹  As I thought about it, I became impatient. ²  Finally I spoke these words: ³ 

My enemies ask this cruel question about me, ¹  ‘When will he finally die and be forgotten?’ ² 

Then Leah came forward with her children and they bowed down. Finally Joseph and Rachel came forward and bowed down.

Finally Jacob said ¹  to Laban, “Give me my wife, for my time of service is up. ²  I want to have marital relations with her.” ³ 

Finally Aaron waved the breasts and the right thigh as a wave offering before the Lord just as Moses had commanded.

They threw away the foreign gods they owned ¹  and worshiped ²  the Lord. Finally the Lord grew tired of seeing Israel suffer so much. ³

Finally they brought the goats for the sin offering before the king and the assembly, and they placed their hands on them.

What follows is a record of what happened to Jerusalem and Judah because of the Lord’s anger; he finally threw them out of his presence. ¹  Zedekiah rebelled against the king of Babylon.

But they mocked God’s messengers, despised his warnings, ¹  and ridiculed his prophets. ²  Finally the Lord got very angry at his people and there was no one who could prevent his judgment. ³ 

Finally, the one presenting the offering ¹  must wash its entrails and its legs in water and the priest must offer all of it up in smoke on the altar ²  – it is ³  a burnt offering, a gift ⁴  of a soothing aroma to the Lord.
