Now ¹  while Zechariah ²  was serving as priest before God when his division was on duty, ³ 

So there was a division in the crowd ¹  because of Jesus. ² 

Another sharp division took place among the Jewish people ¹  because of these words.

Do you think I have come to bring peace on earth? No, I tell you, but rather division! ¹ 

so that there may be no division in the body, but the members may have mutual concern for one another.

During the reign ¹  of Herod ²  king of Judea, there lived a priest named Zechariah who belonged to ³  the priestly division of Abijah, ⁴  and he had a wife named Elizabeth, ⁵  who was a descendant of Aaron. ⁶ 

Then some of the Pharisees began to say, ¹  “This man is not from God, because he does not observe ²  the Sabbath.” ³  But others said, “How can a man who is a sinner perform ⁴  such miraculous signs?” Thus there was a division ⁵  among them.
