As he got into the boat, his disciples followed him. ¹ 

Jesus and his disciples got up and followed him.

Then Jesus said to the crowds and to his disciples,

Now ¹  John’s ²  disciples and the Pharisees ³  were fasting. ⁴  So ⁵  they came to Jesus ⁶  and said, “Why do the disciples of John and the disciples of the Pharisees fast, but your disciples don’t fast?”

Then ¹  all the disciples ²  left him and fled.

Then ¹  his disciples asked him what this parable meant. ² 

(although Jesus himself was not baptizing, but his disciples were), ¹ 

Meanwhile the disciples were urging him, ¹  “Rabbi, eat something.” ² 

So the disciples went back to their homes.

So they spent ¹  considerable ²  time with the disciples.

John’s ¹  disciples informed him about all these things. So ²  John called ³  two of his disciples

Then John’s ¹  disciples came to Jesus ²  and asked, “Why do we and the Pharisees ³  fast often, ⁴  but your disciples don’t fast?”

Then Jesus and his disciples went to the villages of Caesarea Philippi. ¹  On the way he asked his disciples, ²  “Who do people say that I am?”

Then ¹  they said to him, “John’s ²  disciples frequently fast ³  and pray, ⁴  and so do the disciples of the Pharisees, ⁵  but yours continue to eat and drink.” ⁶ 

Another ¹  of the ²  disciples said to him, “Lord, let me first go and bury my father.”

Then he said to his disciples, “The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few.

And pointing ¹  toward his disciples he said, “Here ²  are my mother and my brothers!

Then ¹  the disciples came to him and said, “Why do you speak to them in parables?”

When the disciples went to the other side, they forgot to take bread.

Then he instructed his disciples not to tell anyone that he was the Christ. ¹
