‘I know your deeds, that you are neither cold nor hot. ¹  I wish you were either cold or hot!

and because lawlessness will increase so much, the love of many will grow cold.

So because you are lukewarm, and neither hot nor cold, I am going ¹  to vomit ²  you out of my mouth!
