“Now, listen, Jacob my servant, Israel whom I have chosen!”

He ¹  gives his chosen king magnificent victories; ²  he is faithful ³  to his chosen ruler, ⁴  to David and his descendants ⁵  forever.” ⁶

Then Jesse presented ¹  Shammah. But Samuel said, “The Lord has not chosen this one either.”

The Lord strengthens his people; ¹  he protects and delivers his chosen king. ²

“You, my servant Israel, Jacob whom I have chosen, offspring of Abraham my friend, ¹ 

“See, I have chosen ¹  Bezalel son of Uri, the son of Hur, of the tribe of Judah,

Go and cry for help to the gods you have chosen! Let them deliver you from trouble!” ¹
