So Solomon finished building the temple. ¹ 

He finished building the temple ¹  and covered it ²  with rafters ³  and boards made of cedar. ⁴ 

to supply me with large quantities of timber, for I am building a great, magnificent temple.

They ¹  also asked them, “What are the names of the men who are building this edifice?”

The building that was facing the temple courtyard at the west side was 122½ feet ¹  wide; the wall of the building was 8¾ feet ²  all around, and its length 157½ feet. ³ 

But the Lord came down to see the city and the tower that the people ¹  had started ²  building.

So the Lord scattered them from there across the face of the entire earth, and they stopped building ¹  the city.

He began building on the second day of the second month of the fourth year of his reign. ¹ 

Then the local people ¹  began to discourage ²  the people of Judah and to dishearten them from building.

At the beginning ¹  of the wall of the court toward the south, ²  facing the courtyard and the building, were chambers

Now the upper chambers were narrower, because the galleries took more space from them than from the lower and middle chambers of the building.

Solomon’s and Hiram’s construction workers, ¹  along with men from Byblos, ²  did the chiseling and prepared the wood and stones for the building of the temple. ³
