Give us today our daily bread, ¹ 

Give us each day our daily bread, ¹ 

I am the bread of life. ¹ 

Now ¹  there were five thousand men ²  who ate the bread. ³ 

Because there is one bread, we who are many are one body, for we all share the one bread.

I am the living bread that came down from heaven. If anyone eats from this bread he will live forever. The bread ¹  that I will give for the life of the world is my flesh.”

This ¹  is the bread that came down from heaven; it is not like the bread your ancestors ²  ate, but then later died. ³  The one who eats ⁴  this bread will live forever.”

When the disciples went to the other side, they forgot to take bread.

So ¹  they began to discuss this among themselves, saying, “It is because we brought no bread.”

So they began to discuss with one another about having no bread. ¹ 

Jesus answered him, “It is written, ‘Man ¹  does not live by bread alone.’” ² 

Now the Feast of Unleavened Bread, ¹  which is called the Passover, was approaching.

So they said to him, “Sir, ¹  give us this bread all the time!”

Judas ¹  took the piece of bread and went out immediately. (Now it was night.) ² 

Then Jesus told them, “I tell you the solemn truth, ¹  it is not Moses who has given you the bread from heaven, but my Father is giving you the true bread from heaven.

So then, let us celebrate the festival, not with the old yeast, the yeast of vice and evil, but with the bread without yeast, the bread of sincerity and truth. ¹ 

The tempter came and said to him, “If you are the Son of God, command these stones to become bread.” ¹ 

Is ¹  there anyone among you who, if his son asks for bread, will give him a stone?

“It is not right ¹  to take the children’s bread and throw it to the dogs,” ²  he said. ³ 

And they saw that some of Jesus’ disciples ate their bread with unclean hands, that is, unwashed.
