So they said to one another, ¹  “Let’s appoint ²  a leader ³  and return ⁴  to Egypt.”

Then, when the officers have finished speaking, ¹  they must appoint unit commanders ²  to lead the troops.

you appoint them to rule over your creation; ¹  you have placed ²  everything under their authority, ³
