But at his gate lay ¹  a poor man named Lazarus ²  whose body was covered with sores, ³ 

Now a man named Ananias, together with Sapphira his wife, sold a piece of property.

Now a certain man, a Pharisee ¹  named Nicodemus, who was a member of the Jewish ruling council, ² 

When he knocked at the door of the outer gate, a slave girl named Rhoda answered. ¹ 

Now ¹  there was a man named Joseph who was a member of the council, ²  a good and righteous man.

He found there a man named Aeneas who had been confined to a mattress for eight years because ¹  he was paralyzed.

While we remained there for a number of days, ¹  a prophet named Agabus ²  came down from Judea.

Leah said, “How fortunate!” ¹  So she named him Gad. ² 

She became pregnant again and had another son, whom she named Onan.

Simon ¹  (whom he named Peter), and his brother Andrew; and James, John, Philip, Bartholomew, ² 

and he has seen in a vision ¹  a man named Ananias come in and place his hands on him so that he may see again.”

But some people ¹  joined him ²  and believed. Among them ³  were Dionysius, who was a member of the Areopagus, ⁴  a woman ⁵  named Damaris, and others with them.

Now a Jew named Apollos, a native of Alexandria, arrived in Ephesus. ¹  He was an eloquent speaker, ²  well-versed ³  in the scriptures.

When it was decided we ¹  would sail to Italy, ²  they handed over Paul and some other prisoners to a centurion ³  of the Augustan Cohort ⁴  named Julius.

Now ¹  when it was evening, there came a rich man from Arimathea, named Joseph, who was also a disciple of Jesus. ² 

Now there was a man in Caesarea ¹  named Cornelius, a centurion ²  of what was known as the Italian Cohort. ³ 

After that she gave birth to a daughter and named her Dinah.

She became pregnant ¹  and had a son. Judah named ²  him Er.

from ¹  whom every family ²  in heaven and on the earth is named.

Now as they went on their way, Jesus ¹  entered a certain village where a woman named Martha welcomed him as a guest. ²
