If then I do not know the meaning of a language, I will be a foreigner to the speaker and the speaker a foreigner to me.

Abimelech asked Abraham, “What is the meaning of these ¹  seven ewe lambs that you have set apart?”

We each had a dream one night; each of us had a dream with its own meaning. ¹ 

There are probably many kinds of languages in the world, and none is without meaning.

“Now the parable means ¹  this: The seed is the word of God.

When your children ¹  ask you later on, “What are the stipulations, statutes, and ordinances that the Lord our God commanded you?”

They brought Jesus ¹  to a place called Golgotha ²  (which is translated, “Place of the Skull”). ³ 

Both of them, the cupbearer and the baker of the king of Egypt, who were confined in the prison, had a dream ¹  the same night. ²  Each man’s dream had its own meaning. ³ 

While I, Daniel, was watching the vision, I sought to understand it. Now one who appeared to be a man was standing before me.

But Jesus ¹  looked straight at them and said, “Then what is the meaning of that which is written: ‘The stone the builders rejected has become the cornerstone’? ² 

the descendants ¹  of Parosh: 2,172;

I approached one of those standing nearby and asked him about the meaning ¹  of all this. So he spoke with me and revealed ²  to me the interpretation of the vision: ³ 

“So listen to the parable of the sower:

He appointed twelve: ¹  To Simon ²  he gave the name Peter;

In no way did I mean the immoral people of this world, or the greedy and swindlers and idolaters, since you would then have to go out of the world.

“This is its meaning,” Joseph said to him. “The three branches represent ¹  three days.

To discern ¹  the meaning of ²  a proverb and a parable, ³  the sayings of the wise ⁴  and their ⁵  riddles. ⁶ 

The seven good cows represent seven years, and the seven good heads of grain represent seven years. Both dreams have the same meaning. ¹ 

They read from the book of God’s law, explaining it ¹  and imparting insight. Thus the people ²  gained understanding from what was read.

Then I heard a human voice coming from between the banks of the Ulai. It called out, “Gabriel, ¹  enable this person to understand the vision.”
