God said, ¹  “Let there be ²  light.” ³  And there was light!

He himself was not the light, but he came to testify ¹  about the light.

For you are the one who gives and sustains life. ¹ 

The true light, who gives light to everyone, ¹  was coming into the world. ² 

God saw ¹  that the light was good, ²  so God separated ³  the light from the darkness.

for you were at one time darkness, but now you are ¹  light in the Lord. Walk as children of the light –

the lampstand for ¹  the light and its accessories, its lamps, and oil for the light;

(9:1) The people walking in darkness see a bright light; ¹  light shines on those who live in a land of deep darkness. ² 

While you have the light, believe in the light, so that you may become sons of light.” ¹  When Jesus had said these things, he went away and hid himself from them.

But all things being exposed by the light are made evident.

Nations come to your light, kings to your bright light.

As long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world.” ¹ 

For everyone who does evil deeds hates the light and does not come to the light, so that their deeds will not be exposed.

the people who sit in darkness have seen a great light, and on those who sit in the region and shadow of death a light has dawned.” ¹ 

The light in his tent grows dark; his lamp above him is extinguished. ¹ 

He is driven ¹  from light into darkness and is banished from the world.

Can his armies be numbered? ¹  On whom does his light ²  not rise?

The godly bask in the light; the morally upright experience joy. ¹ 

Your instructions are a doorway through which light shines. ¹  They give ²  insight to the untrained. ³ 

Light ¹  is sweet, ²  and it is pleasant for a person ³  to see the sun. ⁴
