Wrath is cruel and anger is overwhelming, ¹  but who can stand before jealousy? ² 

Or are we trying to provoke the Lord to jealousy? Are we really stronger than he is? ¹ 

for jealousy kindles ¹  a husband’s ²  rage, and he will not show mercy ³  when he takes revenge.

idolatry, sorcery, ¹  hostilities, ²  strife, ³  jealousy, outbursts of anger, selfish rivalries, dissensions, ⁴  factions,

and if jealous feelings ¹  come over him and he becomes suspicious ²  of his wife, when she is defiled; ³  or if jealous feelings come over him and he becomes suspicious of his wife, when she is not defiled –

They made him angry with their pagan shrines, ¹  and made him jealous with their idols.

How long will this go on, O Lord? ¹  Will you stay angry forever? How long will your rage ²  burn like fire?

“‘This is the law for cases of jealousy, ¹  when a wife, while under her husband’s authority, goes astray and defiles herself,

For I am jealous for you with godly jealousy, because I promised you in marriage to one husband, ¹  to present you as a pure ²  virgin to Christ.

They made him jealous with other gods, ¹  they enraged him with abhorrent idols. ² 

For ¹  wrath kills the foolish person, ²  and anger ³  slays the silly one.

I will exhaust my rage on you, and then my fury will turn from you. I will calm down and no longer be angry.

In my zeal, in the fire of my fury, ¹  I declare that on that day there will be a great earthquake ²  in the land of Israel.

Now the high priest rose up, and all those with him (that is, the religious party of the Sadducees ¹ ), ²  and they were filled with jealousy. ³ 

But when the Jews saw the crowds, they were filled with jealousy, ¹  and they began to contradict ²  what Paul was saying ³  by reviling him. ⁴ 

Let us live decently as in the daytime, not in carousing and drunkenness, not in sexual immorality and sensuality, not in discord and jealousy.

For where there is jealousy and selfishness, there is disorder and every evil practice.

The priest will take the grain offering of suspicion from the woman’s hand, wave the grain offering before the Lord, and bring it to the altar.

or when jealous feelings come over a man and he becomes suspicious of his wife; then he must have the woman stand before the Lord, and the priest will carry out all this law upon her.

He stretched out the form ¹  of a hand and grabbed me by a lock of hair on my head. Then a wind ²  lifted me up between the earth and sky and brought me to Jerusalem ³  by means of divine visions, to the door of the inner gate which faces north where the statue ⁴  which provokes to jealousy was located.
