For he will be handed over ¹  to the Gentiles; he will be mocked, ²  mistreated, ³  and spat on. ⁴ 

How much greater punishment do you think that person deserves who has contempt for ¹  the Son of God, and profanes ²  the blood of the covenant that made him holy, ³  and insults the Spirit of grace?

If you are insulted for the name of Christ, you are blessed, because the Spirit of glory, ¹  who is the Spirit of God, ²  rests ³  on you.

Pay back our neighbors in full! ¹  May they be insulted the same way they insulted you, O Lord! ²

Sennacherib’s ¹  servants further insulted ²  the Lord God and his servant Hezekiah.

How often they rebelled against him in the wilderness, and insulted him ¹  in the desert!
