They ¹  will have no inheritance in the midst of their fellow Israelites; ²  the Lord alone is their inheritance, just as he had told them.

However, Moses did not assign land as an inheritance ¹  to the Levites; their inheritance ²  is the Lord God of Israel, as he instructed ³  them.

And when the Jubilee of the Israelites is to take place, ¹  their inheritance will be added to the inheritance of the tribe into which they marry. So their inheritance will be taken away from the inheritance of our ancestral tribe.” ² 

To a larger group you will give a larger inheritance, ¹  and to a smaller group you will give a smaller inheritance. ²  To each one its inheritance must be given according to the number of people in it. ³ 

Therefore Levi has no allotment or inheritance ¹  among his brothers; ²  the Lord is his inheritance just as the Lord your God told him.

No inheritance may pass from tribe to tribe. But every one of the tribes of the Israelites must retain its inheritance.”

“‘This will be their inheritance: I am their inheritance, and you must give them no property in Israel; I am their property. ¹ 

Now Moses had assigned land ¹  to the two-and-a-half tribes east of the Jordan, but he assigned no land ²  to the Levites. ³ 

“To these the land must be divided as an inheritance according to the number of the names.

and if he has no daughter, then you are to give his inheritance to his brothers;

This is the land assigned to the tribe of Judah by its clans: ¹ 

Joseph’s descendants, Manasseh and Ephraim, were assigned their land. ¹ 

seven Israelite tribes had not been assigned their allotted land. ¹ 

Their assigned land included Zorah, Eshtaol, Ir Shemesh,

Our inheritance ¹  is turned over to strangers; foreigners now occupy our homes. ² 

Simeon’s assigned land was taken from Judah’s allotted portion, for Judah’s territory was too large for them; so Simeon was assigned land within Judah. ¹ 

Now if they should be married to one of the men ¹  from another Israelite tribe, their inheritance would be taken from the inheritance of our fathers and added to the inheritance of the tribe into which they marry. ²  As a result, it will be taken from the lot of our inheritance.

Their assigned land included ¹  Beer Sheba, ²  Moladah,

When Joshua dismissed the people, they went to their allotted portions of land. ¹ 

saying, “To you I will give the land of Canaan as the portion of your inheritance.”
