I would lay out my case ¹  before him and fill my mouth with arguments.

O Lord, give me the words! ¹  Then my mouth will praise you. ² 

Blessings ¹  are on the head of the righteous, but the speech ²  of the wicked conceals ³  violence. ⁴ 

The teaching ¹  of the righteous is a fountain of life, ²  but the speech ³  of the wicked conceals ⁴  violence. ⁵ 

Those who are wise ¹  store up ²  knowledge, but foolish speech ³  leads to imminent ⁴  destruction.

The lips of the righteous know ¹  what is pleasing, ²  but the speech ³  of the wicked is perverse.

The words of the wicked lie in wait ¹  to shed innocent blood, ²  but the words ³  of the upright will deliver them.

The tongue of the wise ¹  treats knowledge correctly, ²  but the mouth of the fool spouts out ³  folly.

The discerning heart seeks knowledge, but the mouth of fools feeds on folly. ¹ 

The heart of the righteous considers ¹  how ²  to answer, ³  but the mouth of the wicked pours out evil things. ⁴ 

A crooked witness ¹  scorns justice, and the mouth of the wicked devours ²  iniquity.

There was an opening in the center of the robe, like the opening of a collar, with an edge all around the opening so that it could not be torn.

For they say cruel and deceptive things to me; they lie to me. ¹ 

The fear of the Lord is to hate ¹  evil; I hate arrogant pride ²  and the evil way and perverse utterances. ³ 

They travel down to Egypt without seeking my will, ¹  seeking Pharaoh’s protection, and looking for safety in Egypt’s protective shade. ² 

The young men of On and of Pi-beseth ¹  will die by the sword; and the cities will go ²  into captivity.
