Then they said, “We’ll call the girl and find out what she wants to do.” ¹ 

But Simeon and Levi replied, ¹  “Should he treat our sister like a common prostitute?”

Can you send out lightning bolts, and they go? Will they say to you, ‘Here we are’?

So they said to one another, ¹  “Let’s appoint ²  a leader ³  and return ⁴  to Egypt.”

“So the trees said to the fig tree, ‘You come and be our king!’ ¹ 

“So the trees said to the grapevine, ‘You come and be our king!’ ¹ 

The ¹  remnant of Benjamin must be preserved. An entire Israelite tribe should not be wiped out. ² 

Let the heavens rejoice, and the earth be happy! Let the nations say, ¹  ‘The Lord reigns!’
