When Moses heard it he fell down with his face to the ground. ¹ 

He caused them to fall right in the middle of their camp, all around their homes.

Abram bowed down with his face to the ground, ¹  and God said to him, ² 

he digs a pit ¹  and then falls into the hole he has made. ² 

But Esau ran to meet him, embraced him, hugged his neck, and kissed him. Then they both wept.

Then he threw himself on the neck of his brother Benjamin and wept, and Benjamin wept on his neck.

Then Joseph hugged his father’s face. ¹  He wept over him and kissed him.

Then Moses and Aaron fell down with their faces to the ground ¹  before the whole assembled community ²  of the Israelites.

When his armor bearer saw that Saul was dead, he also fell on his sword and died.

So the Lord sent a plague through Israel, and 70,000 Israelite men died.

Then Job got up ¹  and tore his robe. ²  He shaved his head, ³  and then he threw himself down with his face to the ground. ⁴ 

So the Lord God caused the man to fall into a deep sleep, ¹  and while he was asleep, ²  he took part of the man’s side ³  and closed up the place with flesh. ⁴ 

Then Abraham bowed down with his face to the ground and laughed ¹  as he said to himself, ²  “Can ³  a son be born to a man who is a hundred years old? ⁴  Can Sarah ⁵  bear a child at the age of ninety?” ⁶ 

Joseph harnessed his chariot and went up to meet his father Israel in Goshen. When he met him, ¹  he hugged his neck and wept on his neck for quite some time.

May Dan be a snake beside the road, a viper by the path, that bites the heels of the horse so that its rider falls backward. ¹ 

The Levites did what Moses ordered, ¹  and that day about three thousand men of the people died. ² 

or with any stone large enough that a man could die, without seeing him, and throws it at him, and he dies, even though he was not his enemy nor sought his harm,

So the Philistines fought. Israel was defeated; they all ran home. ¹  The slaughter was very great; thirty thousand foot soldiers fell in battle.

When Mephibosheth son of Jonathan, the son of Saul, came to David, he bowed low with his face toward the ground. ¹  David said, “Mephibosheth?” He replied, “Yes, at your service.” ²
