Wisdom has built her house; she has carved out its seven pillars. ² 

where the birds make nests, near the evergreens in which the herons live. ¹ 

For her house ¹  sinks ²  down to death, and her paths lead ³  to the place of the departed spirits. ⁴ 

Keep yourself ¹  far ²  from her, and do not go near the door of her house,

He was passing by the street near her corner, making his way ¹  along the road to her house ² 

Her house is the way to the grave, ¹  going down ²  to the chambers ³  of death.

So she sits at the door of her house, on a seat at the highest point of the city,

Every wise woman ¹  builds ²  her household, ³  but a foolish woman tears it down with her own hands.

She watches over ¹  the ways of her household, and does not eat the bread of idleness. ² 

The man did just as Joseph said; he ¹  brought the men into Joseph’s house. ² 

So Judah and his brothers ¹  came back to Joseph’s house. He was still there, ²  and they threw themselves to the ground before him.

Then Rahab ¹  let them down by a rope ²  through the window. (Her ³  house was built as part of the city wall; she lived in the wall.) ⁴ 

God settles those who have been deserted in their own homes; ¹  he frees prisoners and grants them prosperity. ²  But sinful rebels live in the desert. ³ 

She is not ¹  afraid of the snow ²  for her household, for all of her household are clothed with scarlet. ³ 

Is this the one who made the world like a desert, who ruined its ¹  cities, and refused to free his prisoners so they could return home?”’ ²
