The Lord grants success to the one whose behavior he finds commendable. ¹ 

It makes its tail stiff ¹  like a cedar, the sinews of its thighs are tightly wound.

He is not enamored with the strength of a horse, nor is he impressed by the warrior’s strong legs. ¹ 

A fool takes no pleasure ¹  in understanding but only in disclosing ²  what is on his mind. ³ 

If someone wishes ¹  to contend ²  with him, he cannot answer ³  him one time in a thousand.

The king’s heart ¹  is in the hand ²  of the Lord like channels of water; ³  he turns it wherever he wants.

Do not rush out of the king’s presence in haste – do not delay when the matter is unpleasant, ¹  for he can do whatever he pleases.

But if the man does not want to marry his brother’s widow, then she ¹  must go to the elders at the town gate and say, “My husband’s brother refuses to preserve his brother’s name in Israel; he is unwilling to perform the duty of a brother-in-law to me!”

Remain here tonight. Then in the morning, if he agrees to marry you, ¹  fine, ²  let him do so. ³  But if he does not want to do so, I promise, as surely as the Lord lives, to marry you. ⁴  Sleep here until morning.” ⁵ 

So Haman came in, and the king said to him, “What should be done for the man whom the king wishes to honor?” Haman thought to himself, ¹  “Who is it that the king would want to honor more than me?”
