Amon his son, Josiah his son.

Amon’s servants conspired against him and killed the king in his palace.

Manasseh passed away ¹  and was buried in his palace. His son Amon replaced him as king.

Amon was twenty-two years old when he became king, and he reigned for two years in Jerusalem. ¹ 

He did not humble himself before the Lord as his father Manasseh had done. ¹  Amon was guilty of great sin. ² 

the descendants of Shephatiah, the descendants of Hattil, the descendants of Pokereth-Hazzebaim, and the descendants of Amon.

then I was ¹  beside him as a master craftsman, ²  and I was his delight ³  day by day, rejoicing before him at all times,

Manasseh passed away ¹  and was buried in his palace garden, the garden of Uzzah, and his son Amon replaced him as king.

Amon was twenty-two years old when he became king, and he reigned for two years in Jerusalem. ¹  His mother ²  was Meshullemeth, the daughter of Haruz, from Jotbah.

The people of the land executed all those who had conspired against King Amon, and they ¹  made his son Josiah king in his place.

The rest of Amon’s accomplishments are recorded in the scroll called the Annals of the Kings of Judah. ¹ 

Then the king of Israel said, “Take Micaiah and return him to Amon the city official and Joash the king’s son.

He did evil in the sight of ¹  the Lord, just like his father Manasseh had done. He offered sacrifices to all the idols his father Manasseh had made, and worshiped ²  them.

The people of the land executed all who had conspired against King Amon, and they ¹  made his son Josiah king in his place.

The Lord ¹  began to speak to him ²  in the thirteenth year that Josiah son of Amon ruled over Judah.

You are no more secure ¹  than Thebes ²  – she was located on the banks of the Nile; the waters surrounded her, her ³  rampart ⁴  was the sea, the water ⁵  was her wall.

“For the last twenty-three years, from the thirteenth year that Josiah son of Amon was ruling in Judah ¹  until now, the Lord has been speaking to me. I told you over and over again ²  what he said. ³  But you would not listen.

The Lord God of Israel who rules over all ¹  says, “I will punish Amon, the god of Thebes. ²  I will punish Egypt, its gods, and its kings. I will punish Pharaoh and all who trust in him. ³ 

This is the prophetic message that the Lord gave to ¹  Zephaniah son of Cushi, son of Gedaliah, son of Amariah, son of Hezekiah. Zephaniah delivered this message during the reign of ²  King Josiah son of Amon of Judah:
