However, through all this you did not have confidence in the Lord your God,

You must not worship the Lord your God the way they worship.

“Comfort, comfort my people,” says your ¹  God.

I am the Lord your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt to be your God. I am the Lord your God.”

You saw everything the Lord your God did to all these nations on your behalf, for the Lord your God fights for you. ¹ 

The Lord your God will drive them out from before you and remove them, ¹  so you can occupy ²  their land as the Lord your God promised ³  you.

“‘You must sanctify yourselves and be holy, because I am the Lord your God.

You were not willing to go up, however, but instead rebelled against the Lord your God. ¹ 

Do not be afraid of them, for the Lord your God will personally fight for you.”

But you who remained faithful to the Lord your God are still alive to this very day, every one of you.

You must not put the Lord your God to the test as you did at Massah. ¹ 

Watch yourselves carefully! Love the Lord your God! ¹ 

¹ Then Pharaoh quickly ²  summoned Moses and Aaron and said, “I have sinned ³  against the Lord your God and against you!

You must serve ¹  the Lord your God, and he ²  will bless your bread and your water, ³  and I will remove sickness from your midst.

“Speak to the Israelites and tell them, ‘I am the Lord your God!

You must observe my regulations ¹  and you must be sure to walk in my statutes. ²  I am the Lord your God.

Each of you must respect his mother and his father, ¹  and you must keep my Sabbaths. I am the Lord your God.

Do not turn to idols, ¹  and you must not make for yourselves gods of cast metal. I am the Lord your God.

Then in the fifth year you may eat its fruit to add its produce to your harvest. ¹  I am the Lord your God.

There will be one regulation ¹  for you, whether a foreigner or a native citizen, for I am the Lord your God.’”
