You are to make a grating ¹  for it, a network of bronze, and you are to make on the network four bronze rings on its four corners.

For he has been thrown into a net by his feet ¹  and he wanders into a mesh. ² 

Surely it is futile to spread ¹  a net in plain sight of ²  any bird, ³ 

The one ¹  who flatters ²  his neighbor spreads a net ³  for his steps. ⁴ 

You are to put it under the ledge of the altar below, so that the network will come ¹  halfway up the altar. ² 

He made a grating for the altar, a network of bronze under its ledge, halfway up from the bottom.

The nations fell ¹  into the pit they had made; their feet were caught in the net they had hidden. ² 

He lies in ambush in a hidden place, like a lion in a thicket; ¹  he lies in ambush, waiting to catch ²  the oppressed; he catches the oppressed ³  by pulling in his net. ⁴ 

I continually look to the Lord for help, ¹  for he will free my feet from the enemy’s net. ² 

You will free me ¹  from the net they hid for me, for you are my place of refuge.

I did not harm them, but they hid a net to catch me and dug a pit to trap me. ¹ 

Let destruction take them by surprise! ¹  Let the net they hid catch them! Let them fall into destruction! ² 

They have prepared a net to trap me; ¹  I am discouraged. ²  They have dug a pit for me. ³  They will fall ⁴  into it! (Selah)

The nations – the surrounding regions – attacked him. They threw their net over him; he was caught in their pit.

I will throw my bird net over them while they are flying, I will bring them down like birds in the sky; I will discipline them when I hear them flocking together.

Proud men hide a snare for me; evil men ¹  spread a net by the path; they set traps for me. (Selah)
