So God made the expanse and separated the water under the expanse from the water above it. ¹  It was so. ² 

God placed the lights ¹  in the expanse of the sky to shine on the earth,

Praise the Lord! Praise God in his sanctuary! Praise him in the sky, which testifies to his strength! ² 

God said, “Let there be an expanse ¹  in the midst of the waters and let it separate water ²  from water.

God called the expanse “sky.” ¹  There was evening, and there was morning, a second day.

and let them serve as lights in the expanse of the sky to give light on the earth.” It was so.

For the music director; a psalm of David. The heavens declare the glory of God; ²  the sky displays his handiwork. ³ 

Over the heads of the living beings was something like a platform, ¹  glittering awesomely like ice, ²  stretched out over their heads.

Then there was a voice from above the platform over their heads when they stood still. ¹ 

But the wise will shine like the brightness of the heavenly expanse. And those bringing many to righteousness will be like the stars forever and ever.

God said, “Let there be lights ¹  in the expanse ²  of the sky to separate the day from the night, and let them be signs ³  to indicate seasons and days and years,

God said, “Let the water swarm with swarms ¹  of living creatures and let birds fly ²  above the earth across the expanse of the sky.”

Under the platform their wings were stretched out, each toward the other. Each of the beings also had two wings covering ¹  its body.

Above the platform over their heads was something like a sapphire shaped like a throne. High above on the throne was a form that appeared to be a man.

As I watched, I saw ¹  on the platform ²  above the top of the cherubim something like a sapphire, resembling the shape of a throne, appearing above them.
