Blind guides! You strain out a gnat yet swallow a camel! ¹ 

Leave them! They are blind guides. ¹  If someone who is blind leads another who is blind, ²  both will fall into a pit.”

“Woe to you, blind guides, who say, ‘Whoever swears by the temple is bound by nothing. ¹  But whoever swears by the gold of the temple is bound by the oath.’

He ¹  leads ²  counselors away stripped ³  and makes judges ⁴  into fools. ⁵ 

He makes nations great, ¹  and destroys them; he extends the boundaries of nations and disperses ²  them. ³ 

Plans fail ¹  when there is no counsel, but with abundant advisers they are established. ² 

for with guidance you wage your war, and with numerous advisers there is victory. ¹ 

The father of your nation ¹  sinned; your spokesmen ²  rebelled against me.

At the sound of your captains’ cry the waves will surge; ¹ 

Nor are you to be called ‘teacher,’ for you have one teacher, the Christ. ¹ 

For though you may have ten thousand guardians in Christ, you do not have many fathers, because I became your father in Christ Jesus through the gospel.

The sailors ¹  rejoiced because the waves ²  grew quiet, and he led them to the harbor ³  they desired.
