Finally the woman died too.

Last ¹  of all, the woman died.

After he fasted forty days and forty nights he was famished. ¹ 

Later, ¹  the other virgins came too, saying, ‘Lord, lord! Let us in!’ ² 

Finally he sent his son to them, ¹  saying, ‘They will respect my son.’

The father ¹  went to the other son and said the same thing. This boy answered, ²  ‘I will, sir,’ but did not go.

and declared, “This man ¹  said, ‘I am able to destroy the temple of God and rebuild it in three days.’”

Simon Peter said to him, “Lord, where are you going?” Jesus replied, ¹  “Where I am going, you cannot follow me now, but you will follow later.”

Now all discipline seems painful at the time, not joyful. ¹  But later it produces the fruit of peace and righteousness ²  for those trained by it.

For John came to you in the way of righteousness, and you did not believe him. But the tax collectors and prostitutes did believe. Although ¹  you saw this, you did not later change your minds ²  and believe him.

Then he appeared to the eleven themselves, while they were eating, and he rebuked them for their unbelief and hardness of heart, because they did not believe those who had seen him resurrected.
