You have made known to me the paths of life; you will make me full of joy with your presence.’ ¹ 

He ¹  sent messengers on ahead of him. ²  As they went along, ³  they entered a Samaritan village to make things ready in advance ⁴  for him,

So they left the council rejoicing because they had been considered worthy ¹  to suffer dishonor for the sake of the name. ² 

Before ¹  Jesus ²  arrived, John ³  had proclaimed a baptism for repentance ⁴  to all the people of Israel.

They ¹  will undergo the penalty of eternal destruction, away from the presence of the Lord and from the glory of his strength, ² 

As it is written in Isaiah the prophet, ¹  “Look, I am sending my messenger ahead of you, who will prepare your way, ² 

This is the one about whom it is written, ‘Look, I am sending my messenger ahead of you, ¹  who will prepare your way before you.’ ² 

As ¹  he was praying, ²  the appearance of his face was transformed, ³  and his clothes became very bright, a brilliant white. ⁴ 

Therefore repent and turn back so that your sins may be wiped out,

From one man ¹  he made every nation of the human race ²  to inhabit the entire earth, ³  determining their set times ⁴  and the fixed limits of the places where they would live, ⁵ 

This is the one about whom it is written: ‘Look, I am sending my messenger ahead of you, ¹  who will prepare your way before you.’ ² 

After this ¹  the Lord appointed seventy-two ²  others and sent them on ahead of him two by two into every town ³  and place where he himself was about to go.

Our ¹  ancestors ²  received possession of it and brought it in with Joshua when they dispossessed the nations that God drove out before our ancestors, ³  until the time ⁴  of David.

But if the ministry that produced death – carved in letters on stone tablets ¹  – came with glory, so that the Israelites ²  could not keep their eyes fixed on the face of Moses because of the glory of his face ³  (a glory ⁴  which was made ineffective), ⁵ 

For the sun rises with its heat and dries up the meadow; the petal of the flower falls off and its beauty is lost forever. ¹  So also the rich person in the midst of his pursuits will wither away.

They ¹  said to the mountains and to the rocks, “Fall on us and hide us from the face of the one who is seated on the throne and from the wrath of the Lamb, ² 

But ¹  the woman was given the two wings of a giant eagle so that she could fly out into the wilderness, ²  to the place God ³  prepared for her, where she is taken care of – away from the presence of the serpent – for a time, times, and half a time. ⁴ 

Then ¹  I saw a large ²  white throne and the one who was seated on it; the earth and the heaven ³  fled ⁴  from his presence, and no place was found for them.
