These had gone on ahead ¹  and were waiting for us in Troas. ² 

So they came ¹  and woke him up saying, “Lord, save us! We are about to die!”

Then ¹  the disciples came to him and said, “Why do you speak to them in parables?”

Then the disciples came to him and said, “Do you know that when the Pharisees ¹  heard this saying they were offended?”

Now when the Pharisees ¹  and Sadducees ²  came to test Jesus, ³  they asked him to show them a sign from heaven. ⁴ 

Then some Pharisees ¹  came, and to test him ²  they asked, “Is it lawful for a man to divorce his ³  wife?” ⁴ 

Now some Sadducees ¹  (who contend that there is no resurrection) ²  came to him.

So the slaves ¹  of the owner came and said to him, ‘Sir, didn’t you sow good seed in your field? Then where did the weeds come from?’

Then John’s ¹  disciples came and took the body and buried it and went and told Jesus.

But he did not answer her a word. Then ¹  his disciples came and begged him, ²  “Send her away, because she keeps on crying out after us.”

Then the disciples came ¹  to Jesus privately and said, “Why couldn’t we cast it out?”

Jesus ¹  said to him, “Friend, do what you are here to do.” Then they came and took hold ²  of Jesus and arrested him.

and declared, “This man ¹  said, ‘I am able to destroy the temple of God and rebuild it in three days.’”

When it was already late, his disciples came to him and said, “This is an isolated place ¹  and it is already very late.

They ¹  went ²  to the chief priests ³  and the elders and said, “We have bound ourselves with a solemn oath ⁴  not to partake ⁵  of anything until we have killed Paul.

After ¹  a little while, those standing there came up to Peter and said, “You really are one of them too – even your accent ²  gives you away!”

They ¹  came ²  and woke him, saying, “Master, Master, ³  we are about to die!” So ⁴  he got up and rebuked ⁵  the wind and the raging waves; ⁶  they died down, and it was calm.

Now the day began to draw to a close, ¹  so ²  the twelve came and said to Jesus, ³  “Send the crowd away, so they can go into the surrounding villages and countryside and find lodging ⁴  and food, because we are in an isolated place.” ⁵
