Then ¹  the chief priests began to accuse him repeatedly.

They also said many other things against him, reviling ¹  him.

Greet Mary, who has worked very hard for you.

So now there are many members, but one body.

And I will say to myself, ¹  “You have plenty of goods stored up for many years; relax, eat, drink, celebrate!”’

And tombs were opened, and the bodies of many saints who had died ¹  were raised.

But ¹  he sternly ordered them not to make him known. ² 

He taught them many things in parables, ¹  and in his teaching said to them:

He begged Jesus ¹  repeatedly not to send them out of the region.

They cast out many demons and anointed many sick people with oil and healed them.

And in this way, ¹  with many other exhortations, John ²  proclaimed good news to the people.

But first he must ¹  suffer many things and be rejected by this generation.

“I have many more things to say to you, ¹  but you cannot bear ²  them now.

This is the reason I was often hindered from coming to you.

For in fact the body is not a single member, but many.

For just as the body is one and yet has many members, and all the members of the body – though many – are one body, so too is Christ.

He ¹  told them many things in parables, ²  saying: “Listen! ³  A sower went out to sow. ⁴ 

But when the young man heard this he went away sorrowful, for he was very rich. ¹ 

They came to the house of the synagogue ruler where ¹  he saw noisy confusion and people weeping and wailing loudly. ² 

He strictly ordered that no one should know about this, ¹  and told them to give her something to eat.
