Some stood up and gave this false testimony against him: ¹ 

So they came ¹  and woke him up saying, “Lord, save us! We are about to die!”

As you go, preach this message: ‘The kingdom of heaven is near!’

Then those who were in the boat worshiped him, saying, “Truly you are the Son of God.”

Then Pharisees ¹  and experts in the law ²  came from Jerusalem ³  to Jesus and said, ⁴ 

So ¹  they began to discuss this among themselves, saying, “It is because we brought no bread.”

The ¹  disciples were greatly astonished when they heard this and said, “Then who can be saved?” ² 

When the disciples saw it they were amazed, saying, “How did the fig tree wither so quickly?”

When ¹  the disciples saw this, they became indignant and said, “Why this waste?

saying, “Prophesy for us, you Christ! ¹  Who hit you?” ² 

They were even more astonished and said ¹  to one another, “Then ²  who can be saved?” ³ 

So ¹  the crowds were asking ²  him, “What then should we do?”

They will say, ¹  ‘This man ²  began to build and was not able to finish!’ ³ 

raised their voices and said, “Jesus, Master, have mercy ¹  on us.”

And when the people ¹  saw it, they all complained, ²  “He has gone in to be the guest of a man who is a sinner.” ³ 

But they all shouted out together, ¹  “Take this man ²  away! Release Barabbas for us!”

But they kept on shouting, ¹  “Crucify, crucify ²  him!”

and saying, “If ¹  you are the king of the Jews, save yourself!”

Meanwhile the disciples were urging him, ¹  “Rabbi, eat something.” ² 

Then the Jewish leaders ¹  were astonished ²  and said, “How does this man know so much when he has never had formal instruction?” ³
