And just as people ¹  are appointed to die once, and then to face judgment, ² 

For judgment is merciless for the one who has shown no mercy. But mercy triumphs over ¹  judgment.

Now is the judgment of this world; now the ruler of this world ¹  will be driven out. ² 

But if I judge, my evaluation is accurate, ¹  because I am not alone when I judge, ²  but I and the Father who sent me do so together. ³ 

In humiliation ¹  justice was taken from him. ²  Who can describe his posterity? ³  For his life was taken away ⁴  from the earth.” ⁵ 

Now this is the basis for judging: ¹  that the light has come into the world and people ²  loved the darkness rather than the light, because their deeds were evil.

I can do nothing on my own initiative. ¹  Just as I hear, I judge, and my judgment is just, ²  because I do not seek my own will, but the will of the one who sent me. ³ 

They will stand a long way off because they are afraid of her torment, and will say, “Woe, woe, O great city, Babylon the powerful city! For in a single hour your doom ¹  has come!”
