Then ¹  he said to them, “Do you still not understand?” ² 

(They did not understand that he was telling them about his Father.) ¹ 

For she kept saying to herself, ¹  “If only I touch his cloak, I will be healed.” ² 

because John had repeatedly told ¹  him, “It is not lawful for you to have her.” ² 

He taught them many things in parables, ¹  and in his teaching said to them:

And he said, “Whoever has ears to hear had better listen!” ¹ 

(For Jesus ¹  had said to him, “Come out of that man, you unclean spirit!”) ² 

for she kept saying, ¹  “If only I touch his clothes, I will be healed.” ² 

But when Herod heard this, he said, “John, whom I beheaded, has been raised!”

He said, “What comes out of a person defiles him.

Regaining his sight ¹  he said, “I see people, but they look like trees walking.”

Then ¹  he said to them, “The Son of Man is lord ²  of the Sabbath.”

Then ¹  Jesus ²  told them a parable to show them they should always ³  pray and not lose heart. ⁴ 

Then he said to them, “Nation will rise up in arms ¹  against nation, and kingdom against kingdom.

Then ¹  he said, “Jesus, remember me ²  when you come in ³  your kingdom.”

But Jesus ¹  was speaking about the temple of his body. ² 

(Now Jesus ¹  said this to test him, for he knew what he was going to do.) ² 

(Now he said this to indicate clearly what kind of death he was going to die.) ¹ 

he said, “Go away, for the girl is not dead but asleep.” And they began making fun of him. ¹ 

Then ¹  he said to them, “The Sabbath was made for people, ²  not people for the Sabbath.
