At that time they had in custody a notorious prisoner named Jesus ¹  Barabbas.

Although ¹  Herod ²  wanted to kill John, ³  he feared the crowd because they accepted John as a prophet.

They wanted to arrest him, but they were afraid of the crowds, because the crowds ¹  regarded him as a prophet.

For he had healed many, so that all who were afflicted with diseases pressed toward him in order to touch him.

They also had a few small fish. After giving thanks for these, he told them to serve these as well.

All who believed were together and held ¹  everything in common,

In fact, if they had been thinking of the land that they had left, they would have had opportunity to return.

They ¹  had hair like women’s hair, and their teeth were like lions’ teeth.

Now ¹  they had forgotten to take bread, except for one loaf they had with them in the boat.

But if we say, ‘From people – ’” (they feared the crowd, for they all considered John to be truly a prophet).

And because they saw the man who had been healed standing with them, they had nothing to say against this. ¹ 

I have many things to write to you, but I do not wish to write to you with ¹  pen and ink. ² 

Then another ¹  slave ²  came and said, ‘Sir, here is ³  your mina that I put away for safekeeping ⁴  in a piece of cloth. ⁵ 

And now, Father, glorify me at your side ¹  with the glory I had with you before the world was created. ² 

When ¹  they arrived ²  in Salamis, ³  they began to proclaim ⁴  the word of God in the Jewish synagogues. ⁵  (Now they also had John ⁶  as their assistant.) ⁷ 

Rather they had several points of disagreement ¹  with him about their own religion ²  and about a man named Jesus ³  who was dead, whom Paul claimed ⁴  to be alive.

They had breastplates ¹  like iron breastplates, and the sound of their wings was like the noise of many horse-drawn chariots charging into battle.

As the sun was setting, all those who had any relatives ¹  sick with various diseases brought them to Jesus. ²  He placed ³  his hands on every one of them and healed them.

Now ¹  when the Lamb opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of those who had been violently killed ²  because of the word of God and because of the testimony they had given.
